McMurdo Christmas Festivities

McMurdo Christmas Tree

Mumu and Papa asked what we are doing for Christmas so I have some pictures to share. The Carpenters threw a party called the McMurdo Alternative Art Gallery (MAAG).

To the right I have a 20 foot high twisted metal pipe with a light on the top - our town Christmas tree.

Donut Man VS human playing cornhole

Inside of the shop there was a cabaret performance, art display and ultimatly a a dance party.

I made Forrest's wall of Faces of West Antarctica

Jeremy Stephen's masterpiece the bike riding dog.

Another contribution by Mr. Stephens - Your future is brighter than you are...hmmmm

Robin Corrocia's (sorry if I misspelled the last name) beautiful addition. Very cool meese with slide together puzzle construction.

One of Shaun Christ's many wonderful charcoal sketches.

I do not have information on the following artist's contributions but here is just a sampling of the many other projects that adorned the false walls we built in the Carp Shop. I didn't make a direct submission but I built frames for canvas to be stretched over for other artists.

Merry Christmas!

To my family and friends - I wish we could be like the McMurdo Seal colony and just hang out together on the ice like a bunch of fat happy lumps.

Saw my first penguin today. He was very far away but I got a decent view of him with the binoculars.

Its been a while since I posted, here is a little of the work I have done

No posts because I am exhausted, sore, beat up, and generally destroyed. But I am still in good spirits-  I have decided to post some of my more fun projects since I have been here.
My first cool project - A lock box/bench that is tough as nails

Training Kiosk or Entertainment center?

Notice the down troughs of a SIN curve on the sides

A view of my masterpiece from the door.... learning joinery in 3 days or less

From the front - All out of reclaimed wood from McMurdo furniture heading to the garbage

Up Close and personal - Eight miter joints = no putty

Or else?

Wish I had something to do with the new sign on the left :)
